Following the Black Lives Matter revolution books on racism increased in sales. But is it enough to read a book? What books are worth reading? What‘s the difference between fiction and non-fiction? Biographies and poetry?

The literary world is class-biased, just like the rest of the world. The strongest voices are often homogenous. This is a fact that many people are aware of, but still seems hard to change.

Where does the problem lie? Who‘s to blame? Publishers? Readers? Or does the problem lie way deeper in society‘s roots?

In the Literary Café Diverse Voices these questions will be addressed by Chanel Björk Sturludóttir, Helga Soffía Einarsdóttir and Jelena Ćirić. They will discuss literature in a political sense. What is their role and which books can give us a wider perspective, when it comes to racism, minorities and diverse cultural heritage?
