Once upon your time
Humans are natural storytellers.
It is through stories that our minds become a network of symbolic meaning that nourishes the imagination, much like the mycellia nourishes the soil. Through millenia, stories have enabled us to make sense of reality and to pass our knowledge and wisdom on to future generations; to dream our possible futures and to share the magic of language in community. The Erasmus+ project “Once Upon Your Time” is a pedagogic approach that explores the therapeutic potential of fairy tales and storytelling, with the purpose of supporting and nourishing a wholesome development of the human psyche.
This workshop is aimed at activating our imagination—through games and the creative use of symbols and metaphors—with the intention of undraping the true meaning of the stories of our lives.
The workshop takes place in Icelandic and English on 5th floor at The Reykjavík City Library. Facilitator: Juan Camilo, Trainer of YouthWork and non-formal learning.
Free participation and open to anyone, 16 yrs and older, who is interested in exploring the therapeutic potential of storytelling (written or spoken).
Please bring your journal and pen.
