All children's departments of the City Library have children's books in Icelandic and English. Gerðuberg and Grófinn have a good selection of children's books in over 20 other languages.

Get books sent
It is always possible to have books sent to the library closest to you.
At borgarbokasafn.leitir.is you can reserve books and choose to have them sent to your library. Staff can also assist you in ordering books from other libraries.
Purchase suggestion
You can help us make the library's book selection even more diverse by sending us a purchase proposal - the books can be in any language.

Sometimes, storytimes in different languages are organised by Reykjavik City Library. Check the events programme to find out when the next storytime in your language is.
You are also welcome to hold a storytime in your own language. You choose the stories, the language, the library and the time and invite those you want to come and have a nice time together at the library.
You can use books from the library collection or bring your own. Keep in mind that the stories must be suitable for children and may not contain violence, sexually explicit material, racism, sexism, abilism or discrimination in any form.
