Accessibility | Sólheimar Library

Public Transport

Busses nr. 5 and 14 stop nearby the library.

Bicycle Parking

There is one rack for 8-10 bicycles near the entrance.

Car Parking and Entrance

General parking is behind the library and accessibility for handicapped people is good.

Baby Carriages

The library is very small and therefore it’s better to keep the carriages and strollers outside if possible.

WC

There is one toilet, but unfortunately we cannot offer a special facility for people with disabilities.

A Place to Eat

You are welcome to bring your own food and eat it in the reading area.

Acoustics and Lighting

The public libraries are places for people to meet up and socialize and are therefore often quite busy. We often have school visits and we offer all kinds of events during the week. Our library is really small so it is especially busy in the afternoon when families like to come to the library. In spite of that there are quiet times and possible to find a cozy spot and dive into your reading, work or school projects.

The lighting and the acoustics is comfortable and good. There are no closed spaces available for users but you can find a few good hideaway spots. Beeping sounds can be heard from the self-service machines. Led lights are in the ceilings. Led light decorations are in the windows during the darkest months of the year.

Guide dogs are welcome
